Samsung Galaxy A57 Review
The Samsung Galaxy A57 is finally here, and it has some important upgrades compared to last year's A56. But there are a lot of tough choices, so is it worth your money? Let's see
Unboxing and Design
Build Quality and Durability
We have Gorilla Glass Victus Plus on the front and back, along with an aluminum frame. We now have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, which is better than last year's IP67 rating. We also have this Ambience Island, which is a see-through camera bump. The A57 is the slimmest A-series device we have ever had. It's about 6.9 mm thick, which is about 0. 5 mm thinner than the A56, and it's also around 19 grams lighter. It feels really high-quality and is much smaller than last year's version in every way: height, width, and thickness.
Display and Brightness
Super AMOLED Plus Screen and Brightness. Much of that is due to the display. Rephrase We have a Super AMOLED Plus display, which makes it a bit thinner and uses less power. We have thinner borders than last year. Even though the edges are smaller, we still have a small portion at the bottom. It's a great display. It has a 6. 7-inch screen with Full HD Plus resolution. The screen has a special Infinity-O design and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It can get very bright, with a maximum brightness of 1900 nits and a regular high brightness of 1200 nits. When using this outside, it's quite bright and works well in strong sunlight.
Camera and Video Test
We don't have big news about the hardware in this area. We have a 12-megapixel camera for taking selfies. This works well, and you have a lot of detail and a nice range of colors. We have three cameras on the back: one is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, another is a 50-megapixel main camera, and the last one is a 5-megapixel close-up camera. This 5-megapixel macro camera can take close-up pictures, but really, it's just there to make it seem like there are three cameras.
Camera Upgrades and Portraits
I wish the 12-megapixel camera had autofocus so I could adjust it for close-up pictures, but it doesn't have that feature. The main camera is good for the price. You have nice details and a wide range of colors. I truly enjoy looking at photographs of individuals. It takes great photos of people, and the details are really sharp. Some other camera upgrades: the time between taking shots is faster, and this is the first A-series phone that has smooth zooming without any blur. When you switch from the ultra-wide camera to the main camera, it will change smoothly.
Processor and Gaming
This device uses the Exynos 1680 chipset, which is better than last year's 1580 version. It will be great for your daily life. You have quicker RAM, called LPDDR5X, and a vapor chamber that is 13% bigger with a better cooling system. It can run some games, but it's an average-quality processor.
Software and Galaxy AI
One place where this will be noticeable is in the software because we have Android 16 with One UI 8.5. Samsung has promised to give six updates for the operating system and six years of security updates. B2B customers have seven years. We have Galaxy AI. This is a simpler version compared to the Galaxy S series. You have a circle to explore, smooth actions between apps, and you can choose from Gemini, Bixby, or Perplexity. You can turn your voice recordings into text, and you can also get text from your phone calls.
AI Limitations and Battery
You can't use AI to summarize it like you can on the Galaxy S series. An object eraser works okay for simple things, but it doesn't do well with more complicated stuff. Battery Life and 45W Charging: The battery is still a 5,000 mAh battery. It's pretty good; it will help you get through the day just fine. You have super-fast charging that gives you up to 45 watts. This will give you about 60% in 30 minutes. There is no wireless charging. For internet connection, we have Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 6. 1
Samsung Galaxy A57 Price
The A57 costs more than the A56 did last year. The 256 GB version starts at £529, and the 512 GB version is £699.

Conclusion
On its own, this device seems good, but compared to other options, it's hard to sell. We have other devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE. It comes with the Exynos 2400, which is a faster processor. It has an 8-megapixel telephoto camera that works well, supports wireless charging, and includes all the Galaxy AI features. I would wait for the S25 FE to get cheaper, and then I would choose that one instead. But if you have a contract or if you’re a business customer and you need a device with a long-lasting battery and good software updates, then the A57 could be a good choice for you.
